What actually goes wrong on a live stream?

Almost always the audio comes through thin, the venue Wi-Fi gives out halfway through the keynote, or one camera sits on a wide shot for 90 minutes until the people at home close the tab. We plan for all three, run a full tech rehearsal the day before and send a private test stream before your doors open, so you get to actually be at your event.

A five-person crew on every live stream, at minimum

On a lot of streams the person switching cameras is also running the slides and riding the audio, and you can see it every time a slide shows up late. We split those jobs across three seats and put at least two camera operators on top, so every stream starts with five people, each with one job.

What’s included in every live stream

Venue Wi-Fi is where most streams get into trouble, so we never count on it, and audio gets planned before cameras on every job, because nobody has ever said “great video” about something they couldn’t hear.

  • Multi-camera coverage Broadcast and cinema cameras with an operator on each, and wireless transmitters so nobody runs cable through your crowd.
  • A real switcher, recording everything An ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, so the director cuts live while every camera records to its own SSD.
  • Audio off the board We plug into your venue’s sound board or bring our own Yamaha mixer and wireless kit, and a separate recorder keeps a backup copy.
  • Slides and graphics, built ahead of time Names and titles as people speak, your logo, and your slides cut in right on cue.

Plenty of hotels, churches and schools do, and if all you need on top is cameras, a stream and IMAG, you don’t need a separate A/V company.

For A/V companies and event producers

We also work as the broadcast crew on someone else’s show, on your call sheet and under your name.

Need marketing footage from the event too?

A lot of organizations book a broadcast team for the stream and a separate video team for marketing footage, which means two invoices for the same eight hours in the same room. Every camera of ours records on its own drive while the program goes out live, so you walk away with enough to cut a recap and a run of social clips, and those edits get quoted after you’ve seen the footage.

Every camera past the first two is added to the quote, and overnight travel to NYC, Baltimore or D.C. goes on its own line at cost. A signature and a 50% deposit lock the date, and the other half is due 7 days before the event.

Live streaming from the Lehigh Valley to NYC, Philly, Baltimore and D.C.

We’re based in the Lehigh Valley and stream from Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Reading, Lancaster, Harrisburg and Scranton out to Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, Baltimore and D.C. We’re in the room the day before for the tech rehearsal anyway, so a long drive never turns into the crew racing the clock, and travel’s itemized in the quote.

Packages start at $6,500, which covers two cameras, the five-person crew and the tech rehearsal the day before. Extra cameras, the audio setup, the venue’s internet and travel to NYC, Baltimore or D.C. move the number, and you’ll have it in writing the same day as your planning call.

Because each of those jobs needs somebody’s full attention, and when one person covers three of them you see it as a late slide, a hot mic or a shot of an empty podium. The one seat that can come off is audio, when your A/V company’s engineer is already mixing the room.

Every stream starts with five people and builds up to eight cameras and a crew of 11, which covers keynotes, galas, church services and graduations with IMAG. A pro sports broadcast or a show for tens of thousands isn’t our lane, and we’ll tell you that straight.

The director switches to the backup connection we set up before doors, a Starlink dish or a bonded cellular hotspot depending on the building, and every camera records to its own drive either way.

Six weeks out is best, because the tech rehearsal and the five-person crew take that long to plan, but send your date as soon as you have it. It’s locked once the agreement is signed and the 50% deposit is in, and the other 50% is due 7 days before the event.

Yes, regularly. We’re based in Macungie, we work in Manhattan regularly, and travel’s itemized in the quote.

Usually not. YouTube and Vimeo play in any browser, and a Zoom webinar just needs the link from the registration email.
